The procrastination monster, the #1 killer of hopes and dreams!!!!





We have all experienced it. We planned to do something amazing, astronomically life changing. Maybe we wanted to lose weight, or plan for a trip, or finally go back to school. But a week, day or month goes by and next thing you know. we are still at square one feeling guilty. "where did the time go? when am I going to let this procrastination stop!" "how could I let this happen?" well the truth is. If you have been putting your goal off, you just weren't that into it.

Read any of the biographies of some of the richest people in the world and you will see that they had one thing in common. FOCUS and DETERMINATION. They ate, slept and drank their goal, they were consumed by it. and they never stopped until it was accomplished. Soooooooooooo how much do you want it!!! the procrastination monster feeds of excuses, it loves terms like "I'm just to tired" "maybe tomorrow" "when I have time" this makes the procrastination monster fatter and fatter, while leaving you feeling empty inside because you did not fill your soul with the hopes you desire.

Ok, so how do we keep ugly ol procrastination monster from rearing its ugly head???  here are some tips.

  1. Make a list of your goals. when you shop for a large amount of grocery you make a list Right? so why not make a list of your goals. when you see them on paper. it should inspire you to make them become a reality.

  2. when you are ready to work toward your goal NO MATTER WHAT DO NOT POSTPONE IT!!!!!! give yourself a date and a time to make it happen and do not make any excuses to not complete, as soon as you do that the procrastination monster has got you! if you go to the gym don't go for 3 weeks and stop. NEVER STOP!!! i don't care if its raining, snowing or raining chubby babies outside you go to that gym. remember, the procrastination monster feeds off of excuses, it keeps it alive and fat. Starve that bastard. Give no excuse. Like Nike said "just do it"

  3. Make deadlines to complete your goal. Pressure will encourage you to complete it. Do not worry if you don't complete it exactly. You can be weeks late, maybe months. BUT NO LATER!!!!. If its a big goal, like going on your dream vacay. It might take some time for finances. That is fine. But make a deadline. It may take 3 years to get to that Hawaii trip, but if you cut out a couple of hair appointments and designer bags. its all about determination, you will get there.

  4. Make that goal your obsession. imagine how you will feel once you accomplish it. what are the sights? the sounds? what are you wearing? think about it before you sleep at night and when you get up out of bed. Remember, its all about determination and focus.

Look at me for example. Writing to you guys was my goal. I was so tired from my day and i said I would do this later, but I knew later would turn into 2 days later and then a week, and then god knows months. I'm tired, and groggy but im doing it and i have to tell you, nothing feels better than saying you are going to do something, and then accomplishing it!
